About security24

The simplest way to find a locksmith in South Africa you can actually trust.

How we verify locksmiths

Trust is the whole point, so verification isn't an afterthought — it's the standard every listing is held to.

PSIRA registration — the legal baseline

Every locksmith in South Africa is legally required to be registered with PSIRA (the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority). We check for it. It's the minimum bar to appear on security24.

LASA membership — the premium signal

Membership of the Locksmiths Association of South Africa is voluntary and harder to earn. Where a locksmith is a LASA member, we flag it — an extra mark of a serious, established professional.

How locksmiths get listed

We build each area’s listings from recognised industry sources and direct sign-ups from locksmiths themselves. Any locksmith can get listed free — and we confirm their details before they go live. If you run a locksmith business, you can add yours free from our For Locksmiths page.

Built and run in South Africa

security24 is a South African business, built for the way people here actually search for and choose a locksmith. We’re not a global lead-reselling network — we’re a focused local directory, starting in Gauteng and growing across the country.

When you’re locked out, or you’ve lost your car keys, or you need new locks fitted, the last thing you want is to gamble on a random number from a search result. You’re letting someone near your home, your car, your family. You want to know they’re legitimate.

security24 is a directory of verified locksmiths across South Africa, organised by area, so you can quickly find a trustworthy locksmith near you and reach them directly — by phone or WhatsApp, with no middleman.
